Secret Compass Adventure Travel Company Pushing Boundaries

Exciting new expedition company launches 2013 portfolio of extreme adventures.

London, United Kingdom, September 05, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Hacking through the jungles of Sierra Leone; dodging crocodiles in Uganda; bagging volcanoes in Siberia; Mountain biking in Afghanistan.

Sounds Bonkers right? Well there’s more. Secret Compass, an outfit that specializes in extreme adventures and expeditions in some of the most bizarre and undiscovered travel destinations in the world has just launched its 2013 programme of madness.

Included on the insane list of expeditions is a journey (via Yak) to Ice Caves in the Pamir mountains, rafting an uncharted river in China (from k2 Basecamp) and trekking through rebel infested swamps in the Darien gap, Panama. Luckily, they are told that team members are in safe hands: Lev Wood, and Tom Bodkin, co-founders of the company are both ex-paratroopers in the British army and have served several tours in Afghanistan. Wood, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society has led expeditions on 5 continents and travelled in over 80 countries.

“We want to push the boundaries of Adventure travel,” says Tom, a former Special Forces soldier. “Taking the model of a military expedition and opening it up to adventurous civilians. Anyone with a reasonable level of fitness and the right attitude can apply to come.”

The Secret Compass ethos is “Achieve the extraordinary,” and they certainly do that. With several impressive journeys under their belt already and a list of to-do’s to wow even the most seasoned traveller. This is certainly one to watch.
