Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ Balmoral Receives a Second Warm Welcome in the Historic Port of Cobh

East, United Kingdom, September 13, 2012 --( Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ Balmoral was delighted to welcome the 'Cobh Animation Team' on board when the ship called at Cobh, Ireland on 7th September 2012, as part of its 28-night L1216 ‘Canada Eastern Seaboard’ cruise. This is the second time that Balmoral has called at this historic Irish port, having made its maiden call in April 2012 when the ship was chartered for Miles Morgan Travel’s sell-out ‘Titanic Memorial Cruise’, where she received the warmest welcome that the cruise line has ever experienced in any port around the world!

The ‘Cobh Animation Team’ are a group of ladies who were inspired by the 'Titanic Memorial Cruise' back in April to dress in period costume to showcase the town’s heritage and strong links with the RMS Titanic. They gather on the quayside prior to departure for every cruise ship and mingle with guests, have their pictures taken and create a fantastic atmosphere and sense of occasion!

Jo Haley, Cruise Director on Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ Balmoral, said:

“We were delighted to welcome the ladies of the ‘Cobh Animation Group’ on board Balmoral in this most lovely of Irish ports, and we would like to thank them all for helping to make our visit to this historic port such a memorable and colourful one!

“We know that our guests really appreciate a flavour of the various ports that they visit on their cruise, and once again we have been able to show them a very warm welcome from the town of Cobh!”

Sinead Kavanagh, Commercial Marketing Executive of the Port of Cork Company, who co-ordinated the visit, said:

“We would like to thank Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines for such wonderful hospitality to the ‘Cobh Animation Team’ on board the Balmoral in Cobh last Friday. The ladies had a fantastic time and loved getting their photos taken with passengers and crew and seeing the ship.”

Whilst on board Balmoral, the ladies of the ‘Cobh Animation Team’ were treated to a tour of the ship and enjoyed a special lunch on board, in recognition from Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines for their considerable efforts to promote their homeport.
