The Oregon and Washington Chapters of HIMSS today announced registration and Call for Presenters is open for the Second Annual HIMSS NW Technology Conference taking place November 12 & 13, 2012 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Bellevue, Washington.

Bellevue, WA, September 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Oregon and Washington Chapters of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) today announced that registration and a Call for Presenters is now open for the Second Annual HIMSS NW Technology Conference to take place November 12 & 13, 2012 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Bellevue, Washington.

With the continued theme of “Connected Communities of Care,” the conference’s goal is to educate attendees to learn how technology is advancing the healthcare reform movement toward accountability across the public, private, provider, payer, and patient communities, and will bring together health professionals to share their experiences, ideas, plans and breakthrough technologies.

The conference will be developed to assess ways to improve the health and care of patients and the public. This conference will focus on what we know, what is underway, what is available, what has worked and what has not.

“Last year’s event brought the community together, and we received great feedback from attendees,” said Chris Deiner-Karr, Programs chair, HIMSS Washington State Chapter. “We are proud to host the event this year in Seattle, and hope to continue the success of the HIMSS NW Conference.”

The conference has also now opened its Call for Presenters, welcoming topics from across the Health Information Technology landscape including Healthcare Provider and HC Payer Topics. Presenters will share their experiences, ideas, plans and breakthrough technologies. Breakout sessions focusing on Clinical/Quality, Technology and Business healthcare topics will be offered, giving attendees a deeper look into new trends in Health IT. Presentations last year included keynotes from Providence Health Plans, Intel Corporation Industry Affairs, and State Senators.

Access to the full Call for Presenter submission site and suggested topics can be found here: http://www.nwhimssconference.com/speakers/speakers.html. Deadline for submissions is September 28th. Selected presenters will be notified by October 14th.

“This conference will give you the chance to hear from business, clinical and technology experts about the current state and future road map of delivering health care in the Northwest,” added Brian Ahier, Health IT Evangelist at Mid-Columbia Medical Center. “The Pacific Northwest is a National leader in Health IT, and we are looking forward to expanding our reach.”
