Oklahoma City, OK, September 19, 2012 --(PR.com
)-- Samaritan Ways, a 2 year old charity has started its first thrift store. In an effort to raise additional funds to help under privileged families, the thrift store will provide much needed funds from donated items.
Serving the community of Oklahoma City at 1500 N Rockwell. Their grand opening will be this Friday and Saturday at 10am. No opening weekend would be complete without deals. $.99 on all Tshirts and 25% off any purchase. “The opening of our Thrift Store is a wonderful opportunity for us to offer local customers new and gently used merchandise at incredibly discounted prices,” said Rachael Schuffman, President of Samaritan Ways Inc.
Samaritan Ways is different them most charity organizations that except donations that they then sell for fund raising. Samaritan Ways actual gives away items directly donated such as furniture, beds, dishes, clothes, toys and more. Any item donated that is needed for a struggling family is given directly instead of sold. Items that are not able to be directly given are sold and used to raise funds for other types of help needed and for charity operations to continue delivering much needed goods. Samaritan Ways works with other local ministries, charities and businesses such as Hope Housing, Destiny Christian Center, and Renco Direct Inc. All these organizations helped us to give away over $130,000 in goods to needy families last year, with hopes to triple that amount this year.
The store will also serve as a donation center. All items donated are tax deductible and can be dropped off between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Donation pick-ups are available for large items like furniture, appliances and bags of clothing. Individuals who wish to donate can call 1-405-494-0086.
Samaritan Ways is always in need of volunteers and is always interested in new ways to serve the community. Compassion and Mercy for those in need.
