IT Expert Raj Goel Presents Social Media and Cloud Computing Discussion at ASIS International

New York, NY, September 19, 2012 --(PR.com)-- On September 11, 2012 at the ASIS International 58th Annual Seminar and Exhibits, Information Technology expert and author, Raj Goel, presented “Social Media and Cloud Computing Threats to Privacy, Security, and Liberty,” with rave reviews.

The seminar was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with keynote speakers that included Janet Napolitano, the Secretary of Homeland Security, Mohamed ElBaradei, the Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency, and Robert Gates, the U.S. Secretary of Defense from 2006-2011. Along with cloud security, the seminar covered sessions from a behind-the-scenes perspective on Congress and the Obama administration to a viewing from space by Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson.

Goel’s highly praised presentation with 103 people present focused on the impact that social media and cloud computing has on the communication of children, employees, and colleagues. Because social media has become a part of everyday life, there are problems with privacy and security that have arisen. With the use of case studies from around the world, Goel examined the negative effects of social media including losing jobs, college admissions, college degrees, fortunes, and freedom. By warning the public about these effects, Goel continued his presentation with strategies and steps to protect privacy and civil liberties in this time when social media has a huge impact on people’s lives.
