Mick Jagger Secret Gig Set List to Auction

Mick Jagger's draft set list for a secret gig in Melbourne in 1988 will sell at PFC Auctions this month.

Guernsey, United Kingdom, September 27, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Mick Jagger’s handwritten set list from his secret gig at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne in 1988 will sell at PFC Auctions on September 27 2012.

The set list originates from the collection of Wayne Gale, the owner of the Corner Hotel at the time. Jagger gave the list to Gale as a token of his appreciation for being able to play and record at the Hotel.

In 1988, Jagger toured Australia to promote his solo album Primitive Cool. He was accompanied by Joe Satriani on guitar and Simon Phillips on drums. Jagger, Satriani and Phillips played 5 stadium shows at what is now the Rod Laver Arena, but Jagger also wanted the band to play a more intimate venue. Inpress magazine hinted at the gig and over 3,000 people showed up at the Corner Hotel, which was only licensed to hold 700. Every bottle shop in the area sold out of cans of beer that night.

Kylie Whitehead, PFC Auctions Spokesperson said: “This set list is from one of the most legendary gigs in Australian music history. With superb provenance, this is an exceptional piece of music memorabilia.”

Online bidding at www.pfcauctions.com is now open and will end at 7:00pm BST on Thursday September 27 2012.
