Podiatric Care of Northern Virginia Welcomes Dr. William Knudson

Dr. Rodney A. Kander retires after 31 years at Podiatric Care of Northern Virginia.

Leesburg, VA, September 27, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Dr. Rodney A. Kander has recently retired from Podiatric Care of Northern Virginia, turning the practice over to the capable hands of Dr. William Knudson. Dr. Kander began practicing in Loudoun County in 1982. During this time, he also served on the staff of Inova Loudoun Hospital, as well as the Diabetic Education Committee and Continuing Education Committee.

Dr. William Knudson has been in private podiatry practice since 1998. Specializing in medical and surgical care of the foot and ankle, Dr. William Knudson is certified in foot and ankle arthroscopy, advanced wound care, and internal fixation.

“Dr. William Knudson has taken over the full responsibility of Podiatric Care of Northern Virginia,” Dr. Kander said. “He, along with his wife Sarah, intends to keep the tradition going as a ‘mom and pop’ practice, just as my wife and I did throughout the past 31 years.”

Podiatric Care of Northern Virginia has always been family-operated. Dr. Kander’s wife, Iris, worked as office manager and his children were actively involved in his practice as well. Dr. William Knudson ’s wife, Sarah, can often be seen behind the front desk at Podiatric Care of Northern Virginia, further supporting the family atmosphere that has always been an important part of the practice.

The warm atmosphere isn’t the only reason patients return to Podiatric Care of Northern Virginia. Dr. William Knudson and his staff will continue offering extended hours for the convenience of patients. On Wednesdays, the offices are open until 6 p.m. and patients can also schedule Saturday morning appointments.

As Dr. William Knudson explains, Podiatric Care of Northern Virginia offers a variety of foot care-related services. Dr. William Knudson provides everything from advice for long-term foot health to reconstructive surgical procedures in his Leesburg and Front Royal offices. In an effort to help educate future generations of podiatrists, Dr. William Knudson is on the faculty at Inova Fairfax Hospital. Dr. William Knudson also serves on the staff of Inova Loudoun Hospital and is a staff member of the Loudoun Ambulatory Surgery Center.

According to Dr. William Knudson, Podiatric Care of Northern Virginia also offers treatment of sports injuries and other injuries related to trauma of the foot. From pediatric to geriatric foot care, Dr. William Knudson is dedicated to the health and comfort of his patients.

Diabetic foot care is a large part of the practice, according to Dr. William Knudson. “Diabetic foot care ranges from annual foot checks to Charcot reconstructions. We also treat diabetic foot ulcers and diabetic foot infections.”
