American Marketing Association Honors Alec Maki of InsightsNow, Inc.

Maki is one of four recipients of the 4 Under 40: Marketing Research Emerging Leaders Award that the American Marketing Association (AMA) distributes. He will be honored at their annual Research and Strategy Summit, October 1-3, 2012, in Las Vegas, NV.

Corvallis, OR, September 28, 2012 --( Alec Maki, VP of BehaviorLens Research at InsightsNow, is one of four recipients of the 4 Under 40: Marketing Research Emerging Leaders Award that the American Marketing Association (AMA) distributes. Maki will be honored by the AMA at their annual Research and Strategy Summit, October 1-3, 2012—in Las Vegas, NV.

The 4 Under 40 Award showcases and recognizes the contributions of the next generation of leaders in the market research industry. The selected individuals are those which are leading change and are embracing what's next. The Award not only acknowledges the accomplishments of past and present research contributions by these individuals, it also serves as motivation and inspiration for other young leaders. Nominations are reviewed and selections are made by The AMA Marketing Research Council.

Maki’s recent contributions to the market research industry have included several new methodologies. He designed InsightsNow’s Playoff™ methodology, an approach to product line optimization that uniquely enables new line items to be evaluated within a broad competitive context. He also spearheaded a novel approach to using social media research for product innovation.

Currently, Maki leads the development of InsightsNow’s behavioral methods, including BehaviorLens® Opportunity, which is applied at the front-end of innovation. BehaviorLens Opportunity defines markets based on consumer moments, economically sizes those markets, and then targets those with the highest disruptive and/or breakthrough potential.
