Americana-Rock Musician Steve Cooke Nominated for "Best Male Vocal" at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards

Hollywood, CA, October 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Steve Cooke’s single and Album of the same name “Working for the USA” is getting a lot of attention and recognition, not only with ordinary working people, but also the Hollywood music industry.

This years Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) is recognizing Steve Cooke with 3 nominations, 2 in the ‘Best Rock Song’ category with singles “Need your love” and “Bad Girl” co-written with Madonna’s guitarist Monte Pittman and Cooke’s Americana-Rock solo effort, “Working for the USA” for ‘Best Male Vocal.’

The HMMA 2012 awards celebrity hosts include Blockbuster film star Eric Roberts, former Matchbox 20 member Adam Gaynor and Rock-star Supernova and Guns n’ Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke. The star-studded event will be held at the Fonda Theater in Hollywood on November the 15th.

“Working for the USA,” produced and written by Steve Cooke features his classic 12-string guitar sound, accompanied with notes of pedal steel and roaring Rock guitar riffs joining in the fanfare. The timely Bob Dylan type lyrics have meaning and don't pull any punches. His vocal delivery is powerful, reminiscent in style to Jon Bon Jovi crossed with a heavy rock Keith Urban.

Cooke’s a dynamic musician with a powerful message; he’s rough around the edges, but still smooth and soulful. It’s not surprising that his album “Working for the USA” won ‘Best Album’ at the Malibu Music Awards last month.

The HMMA nominated single is going to radio in 2 weeks, just in time for the build up to the Grammys, where “Working for the USA” is entered under ‘Best Rock Performance’. Looks like Award season is truly under way for this new up and coming troubadour.
