Industry Intelligence Webinar: Sustainability a Growing Factor in Grocery Store Loyalty and Sales

Linda Gilbert, CEO of EcoFocus Worldwide, will address how grocery retailers and CPG manufacturers score with the eco-friendly shopper in an Oct. 24 i2live webinar hosted by Industry Intelligence, Inc.

Los Angeles, CA, October 12, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Industry Intelligence Inc., a market intelligence and information management company serving the forest products, packaging, and food and beverage industries, today announced it will offer a free webinar with EcoFocus Worldwide CEO Linda Gilbert on October 24, 2012. Gilbert’s presentation will focus on how eco-friendly shoppers rate grocery retailers and CPG manufacturers. It will also highlight five ways retailers can find more “green” ($$$) in the grocery aisle. EcoFocus Worldwide is a major research group focused on pinpointing consumer sustainability trends.

In this webinar, Gilbert will discuss the results of a new groundbreaking study by EcoFocus Worldwide that looks at how eco-conscious consumers decide where to shop and how retailers are meeting or can further meet the demands of increasingly environmentally aware shoppers. According to the EcoFocus Worldwide study, 87% of U.S. grocery shoppers keep the environment in mind at least some of the time while shopping. In EcoFocus Worldwide’s ranking of grocery retailers based on ten sustainability measures, Publix was most often ranked highest among the major chains, while retailers such as Wal-Mart, Meijer and Winn Dixie lagged behind.

The EcoFocus Worldwide presentation will highlight “lost opportunities” among retailers to share their eco-friendly activities and commitments with consumers. According to EcoFocus Worldwide, many retailers need to make it easier for their shoppers to find environmentally friendly brands and products on their shelves.

The webinar is hosted by Industry Intelligence, Inc. as part of its ongoing series of market-relevant, value-added accessible content. The Food Marketing Institute, an international trade association serving the retail food industry, which has 1,500 member companies in the United States and around the world, is sponsoring this presentation.
