Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Chevy and Jim Sigel Auto

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and throughout the month, Chevy and Jim Sigel Auto will be participating in a variety of events to support this worthy cause.

Grants Pass, OR, October 14, 2012 --(PR.com)-- October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Chevrolet dealers, employees, and customers all across the country are once again rallying in support of this very worthy cause. Through Chevrolet’s support last year, the American Cancer Society raised nearly $1.1 million for the cause and the automaker is hoping to exceed that total this year. Jim Sigel Automotive in Grants Pass is honored to be a part of this campaign.

“The generosity of our employees, dealers and customers shows how everyday heroes can unite to make a difference in eradicating a disease impacting 1.5 million people,” said Don Johnson, vice president, Chevrolet Sales and Service. “For the second year, we are committed to support the American Cancer Society in continuing its fight for more birthdays.”

Several events are being sponsored by Chevrolet throughout the month of October to help raise both awareness and funds for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. These events include dealership-sponsored fundraising walks, appearances by a specialty themed pink Camaro SS pace car, a Chevrolet Certified Service matching rebate contribution program, and test-drive contributions at selected dealerships. Chevy is making a rigorous effort to support the organization. Money raised will be used to help fund wellness, research, and breast cancer awareness education. In addition, money raised will be used to help support breast cancer patients and their families.

“The American Cancer Society is thrilled to have the support of Chevrolet and General Motors nationwide to help us lead the fight against breast cancer,” said Jill Elder, vice president, American Cancer Society, Great Lakes Division. “One in every two women newly diagnosed with breast cancer reaches out to the American Cancer Society for support. The contributions of General Motors and Chevrolet help make it possible to do the most for people with breast cancer today and enable us to continue the great work we’re doing to find cures to end the disease tomorrow.”
