)-- LNG trading is the next big thing in energy markets. In South East Asia, a whole new ecosystem comprising LNG traders, service companies and the supporting physical infrastructure is now taking shape. The 2nd EMART Asia, taking place during Singapore International Energy Week next week, from 23 – 24 October, will be the anchor energy trading forum, focusing on LNG Energy trading in Asia which is set to continue its tremendous growth, both in the physical and financial markets.
“Countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam are already building LNG terminals to receive LNG imports,” said Marcus Magee, General Manager of EMART Asia, “By 2015, Southeast Asia is expected to have 10 LNG terminals with a total capacity of 34 billion cubic metres. There is fierce competition between the countries as to who will dominate the LNG trading business.”
“We are very pleased to have Kasper Walet, the CEO of Maycroft, on board this year,” adds Magee, “Mr. Walet will be hosting our comprehensive Asian LNG Trading Workshop.
“Mr. Walet has 25 years of experience and extensive knowledge on a practical and theoretical level about all the aspects related to trading, derivatives and risk management in the energy commodity industry.”

Issues covered include:
· How is LNG trading evolving from a model of captive sales towards a commodity model and what will be the impact on your contract terms and conditions?
· Will gas and oil continue to be indexed together and how will the development of trading hubs across Asia help set an Asian price standard to break the dominance of the west?
· What new terms should you be negotiating as part of your LNG supply contracts particularly in relation to the LNG price formula and the price reopener clause?
· When will Asian utilities adapt their strategies from other fuel sources to LNG?
EMART Asia is a regional conference that focuses exclusively on LNG procurement - from spot trading and hedging to long term contracts and the development of a Asian based LNG trading infrastructure including its own price indexes, trading hubs, storage infrastructure and related derivative products. The event profiles the activities of LNG traders in Asia, and particularly in Singapore, as the LNG industry develops a new procurement model reflective of new supply and demand fundamentals. Although still far from being a commodity, LNG is undoubtedly emerging as an essential vector for world gas expansion.
Attend EMART Asia to get the facts on how to improve your LNG trades and to better understand the role for intermediaries in this important and rapidly expanding industry.
EMART Asia is part of the Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW).
