MEGT Launches 24 Hour Connection to Apprenticeship and Traineeship Assistance

A new 24 hour hotline service for employers, apprentices and trainees along with online Australian Apprenticeship status has been proving highly popular with customers.

Ringwood, Australia, October 20, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Gone are the days when business stopped before 9am and after 5pm during the week and no business traded on a Sunday. Today, a free service provided by MEGT Australian Apprenticeships Centre, a not for profit organisation contracted by the Australian Government, has a human being answering calls for assistance with apprenticeships and traineeships, 24 hours a day.

General Manager of MEGT Australian Apprenticeships Centre, Jan Griffin said that her strategy is to support all 94 MEGT Australian Apprenticeships Centre offices with people who are as skilled and knowledgeable in Australian Government requirements for apprenticeships and traineeships as the 900 local staff.

“The calls are taken in Australia to handle Australian business needs,” explains Ms Griffin, “and to answer the questions of apprentices and trainees at times that suit them.”

All the incoming 13 MEGT (136348) calls between 5.00pm and 8.40am (corresponding to relevant time zones) will be answered by an after hours team of skilled and knowledgeable staff and then switch over to the local staff during normal business hours.

The only time the after hours answering machine will be on will be public holidays such as Christmas and Easter.

“We are aiming for on-the-spot handling of enquiries and with a 24 hour turnaround on anything that does need a follow up.”

Combined with the online service that has become an industry benchmark for Australian Apprenticeships Centres, Ms Griffin says trials so far indicate the 13MEGT 24 hour hotline is of high value to customers and the Vocational Education and Training sector.

“It clearly demonstrates that we have a total commitment to ensuring that our valued clients receive the highest quality service,” states Ms Griffin. “Furthermore it demonstrates that we are truly responsive to the needs of an Australian marketplace that has had to move quickly and flexibly in the face of great change over the past few years. Government support for apprenticeships and traineeships has been integral to stimulating the economy and service innovation is an important part of that support strategy.”

Australian Apprenticeships are an Australian Government initiative.
