Norman L. Sims is an Attorney and Shareholder in the firm of Dobrusin & Thennisch, P.C. Mr. Sims earned his Bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Albion College and his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Detroit School of Law.
Prior to joining Dobrusin & Thennisch, Mr. Sims was Patent Counsel with Dow Chemical. Mr. Sims’ area of practice is the development and execution of Intellectual Property Strategies, preparation of technology related agreements, advising business units and leaders on how to maximize profits through the use of intellectual property, management of intellectual property aspects of acquisitions, divestures and joint ventures, international and U.S. patent preparation and prosecution of Complex Chemical applications and mechanical applications and trade secret protection. Mr. Sims’ is a Six Sigma Greenbelt. He has been named as a Leading Lawyer 100 in Lawyers Monthly and is the recipient of the AmJur Award for Conflict Laws. Mr. Sims is the author of numerous published works and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, is the Director of the Stephen Ministry Woodside Bible Church and is a Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts of America. In his free time he enjoys reading and travel.
