Price Chopper Rolls Out High School Football Sponsorship Initiative to Assist High School Sports in Section II

Albany, NY, October 24, 2012 --( Price Chopper in cooperation with School Sports Media™, a leader in sponsored school sports marketing, announced today that it has agreed to sponsor the Section II High School Football Championships in the Capital District.

Price Chopper is pleased and excited to support the tradition of high school football in the state of New York, and to help bring the best teams in Section II to the Sectional Championships. "We look forward to following the teams in their bids for the state tournament," said Pam Cerrone, Manager of Community Relations.

Research at Michigan State has reported, “Kids who participate in sports do better in school, have better interpersonal skills, are more team oriented, and are generally healthier.” Student-athletes have to maintain a certain GPA to play so they are motivated to keep their grades up. A recent USA Today survey found that 95% of the Fortune 500 Companies CEO’s participated in extracurricular activities.
