SES Advisors, Inc. Celebrates 25 Years of Creating Employee Ownership

Jim Steiker, Chairman, CEO & Founder, reflects on the firm’s evolution.

Philadelphia, PA, October 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The seeds of both SES Advisors and its sister law firm of Steiker, Fischer, Edwards and Greenapple, P.C. (SFE&G) were sown back in 1985 when Jim Steiker began his career as an attorney for PACE, a Philadelphia-based non-profit organization that promoted employee ownership. This year, his firms are celebrating their 25th anniversary of creating employee ownership.

Jim reflects on his first conversation about employee ownership with Chris Mackin, who was at the time running another nonprofit promoting employee ownership: “This sounded like something right up my alley - a mixture of real, concrete “numbers” work, but still making an impact in the world.”

In 1998, SES Advisors took a great leap forward. “We nearly doubled our revenues in the course of two years, broke the $1 million mark, and hired an incredible guy named Brian Wurpts to run the plan administration practice. This was our catalyst for growth,” recalls Jim. “From 1996-2008, our annual growth rate was over 20% and we made the Philadelphia 100 list of fastest-growing private companies six times.”

Today, SES Advisors and SFE&G together boast one of the nation’s largest core groups of ESOP attorneys, financial advisors and recordkeeping consultants. More than 30 professionals serve clients nationwide from strategically located offices in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Massachusetts, Indiana, Illinois, Virginia and Texas.

When asked what’s in store for the next 25 years, Jim states, “I think that the economy and the world need a firm that focuses on employee ownership, a firm who wants to do it the right way for the right reasons…and I believe we’re going to be around to do that.”
