)-- alwaysON Ltd, a Foresight Group company specialising in the delivery of Microsoft Lync Unified Communications and Managed Network services, has today announced that they have entered into a 5 year agreement with Next Connex, to leverage their UK-wide fibre optic network infrastructure. Next Connex, a wholesale provider of data centre and internet infrastructure, provide low latency, high capacity connectivity across the UK. This strategic partnership will provide alwaysON with greater capacity and the ability to expand their UK reach, with immediate access to extensive network connectivity and data centre colocation capabilities offered by Next Connex and their strategic partners.
Although alwaysON own and operate their UK based, multi-Gigabit MPLS core network, the relationship formed with Next Connex will enable alwaysON to extend their on-net services. The key market driver is the increasing demand for cloud based (hosted) applications on a regional and geographic basis.
