KaraokeFanboy Press, Local Artist Explores Streetcar Debate with Superheroes at Tucson Comic Con

Local artist Russ Kazmierczak, Jr. will be distributing a free mini-comic book at the Tucson Comic Con this weekend featuring the superheroes fighting among the downtown Tucson streetcar construction.

Tucson, AZ, November 03, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Local artist Russ Kazmierczak, Jr. will be distributing a free mini-comic book at the Tucson Comic Con this weekend featuring the superheroes fighting among the downtown Tucson streetcar construction.

The short story will briefly explore the debate about the streetcar’s affect on downtown Tucson businesses.

“I live in Phoenix, but I love visiting Tucson,” Kazmierczak explains, “and the last time I was downtown I actually overheard people talking about what the streetcar construction was doing to small businesses. Those conversations are summarized in the comic.

“One of the ways I help myself understand current events like this is interpreting them through superhero adventure,” he continues. “It takes the edge off of the politics and makes the issue more approachable. Plus, it’s more fun to read!”

Kazmierczak’s self-published comic book series, Amazing Arizona Comics, explores current events all over Arizona, from SB 1070, to local elections, to celebrity visits to the state.

“I can’t resist when people like Sarah Palin or Prince Harry come to town. They’re already almost comic book characters; I just actually take it there.”

The free Tucson-themed comic book will be available while supplies last at Kazmierczak’s booth at the Tucson Comic Con this weekend.
