Fitness Program Hosts Free "Family Fitness Day" Every Saturday in November

Jermaine Collier, Program Manager of S.A. Mobile Fitness, a charitable program sponsored by United Charitable Programs (UCP), is trying to solve the obesity epidemic by hosting a free “Family Fitness Day” every Saturday in November in San Antonio, TX.

San Antonio, TX, November 03, 2012 --(PR.com)-- As obesity skyrockets, fitness experts and social entrepreneurs, like Jermaine Collier, are trying to promote ways for their communities to stay healthy for free. Every Saturday in November, Collier’s program, S.A. Mobile Fitness, will be hosting a free “Family Fitness Day.”

Collier believes that parents and children should be exercising together three to four times a week. He also believes that a healthy and physically fit parent encourages their child to be fit as well. “The exercise habits of parents contribute to their children’s habits from leading by example. When involving themselves into a regular scheduled workout routine, children follow,” says Collier.

There will be two one hour programs available for different age groups. The K.O. Cardio Boxing Program held at 9 am will be for parents, while the Ultimate Athletes Sports Conditioning Program will be at 10 am for children ages 10 and older. If parents and children would like to participate in a class together, kids from the ages of 12 and older are welcome to join the 9 am class.

The K.O. Cardio Boxing Program will include 10 rounds of cardio boxing. Each round will target a different muscle groups in order to give a full body workout. Participants will be hitting the punching bag, target mitts, as well as performing strength training to focus on burning body fat and producing lean muscle.

The Ultimate Athletes Sports Conditioning Program will focus on basketball skills that positively contribute to an athlete’s strength, speed, endurance, and agility. Collier will also place a heavy emphasis on injury prevention for student athletes.

As an expert in physical fitness and sports, Collier is a strong advocate in promoting healthy and fun exercise habits. He is also an athlete himself. Collier says, “Dribbling and shooting are just aspects of the game, but a physically fit body is the foundation.”

“Family Fitness Day” will be located at Phil Hardberger Park, West 8400 NW Military Highway, San Antonio, TX. There will be only 20 slots available for each program. Participants must register for the programs by sending an email to samobilefitness@yahoo.com before the scheduled dates.

Applicants are required to be healthy, injury free, and approved by a physician to perform physical activity. If you are participating in the programs, please bring a hand towel and a bottle of water or a sports drink.

Although there is no charge for Saturday’s programs, donations are welcomed and encouraged. All donations to S.A. Mobile Fitness are tax-deductible. Through S.A. Mobile Fitness, Collier aims to conduct fitness clinics that raise awareness of the harm of poor physical fitness with a special focus on preventing obesity and Type 2 Diabetes.
