Balfour Resource Group, Balfour Beatty Construction Organize Golf Tournament Benefiting Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt

Nashville, TN, November 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Nashville offices of Balfour Resource Group (BRG) and Balfour Beatty Construction (BBC) came together to raise money for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt with their sixth annual golf tournament.

“It feels great giving back to the children’s hospital,” said Edward Hernandez, Senior Vice President of BRG. “We have had a great relationship with Children’s Hospital, and their service to the community is beyond measure.”

Nationally ranked by U.S. News and World Report, Children’s Hospital is highly regarded as one of the best Children’s Hospitals in the nation. Children’s Hospital is a place to hope and a place to heal for patients and families. It provides the best treatment and offers a variety of family accommodations to help fulfill its mission of patient and family-centered care. The hospital is also a teaching and research facility, training many of the future’s top pediatric physicians. The research that is conducted at Children’s Hospital is helping shape the way the nation cares for children.

“With the impact that Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt makes to not just our local area but the region and the country, it’s important to continue to support them,” said Bob Kiger, Vice President of Operations for BBC. “And you could not have asked for a better day.”

Even though it was a little windy, the sky was clear and the temperature was perfect to play a round of golf at the Old Natchez Country Club in Franklin, Tennessee. Set against the changing leaves on the trees, golfers were able to enjoy a cooler temperature while swinging the sticks.
Over 90 golfers participated in the tournament, raising more than $16,000 to donate to the hospital.

“We couldn’t have done it without our sponsors,” said Kiger. “We appreciate their generous donations and support.”

Hole sponsors included Alexander Metals Inc.; Bouchard Fire Protection; Corporate Cleaning Systems, LLC; Earl Swennson Associates; Enterprise Electric; FireStop Technologies, Inc.; Gaylor; Isenhour Door Products; John E. Green Company; KHS&S Contractors; Lee Company; Mechanical Resource Group; Nashville Machine, Inc.; PC/M Consulting, LLC; Schuff Steel; Steel Service; Storage Systems Unlimited; Wolfe & Travis Electric; and Wylie Steel Fabricators, Inc. BECA Commercial Flooring Group and Steel Service sponsored the beverage and snack carts.

BRG and BBC hope to make the next tournament even better, and plans are already in the works for the seventh annual golf tournament.
