Mom’s Day One Inc. Releases Its first Set of Complimentary Wellness Packages to New Toronto Moms

To help prepare new moms for the journey into motherhood, Mom’s Day One Inc. has launched its Mom’s Day One Box programme, which will present new moms with gifts and resources that are essential in the first days with a new baby. St. Michael’s Hospital and North York General Hospital were the first two Toronto hospitals to be a part of this initiative geared at supporting and enhancing the new mom’s early experience of motherhood.

Toronto, Canada, November 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Mom’s Day One Inc. was started by two Toronto moms, Nina Binkowska and Simone Miller, who shared the common goal of wanting to assist new moms with the challenges and many joys of motherhood. They seek to highlight the importance of moms and simply want to show that they care by offering support. “We believe that the birth of a baby is the perfect moment to say ‘Thank You’ to a new mom and to welcome her new baby,” says Miller. “Mom’s Day One would like new moms to feel appreciated and important from that very first moment.”

The Mom’s Day One team, together with Oh Baby Magazine’s passionate dad and entrepreneur, Nick Eliades, started working on the project in February of this year, and in that time managed to get over 15 family-friendly companies on board donating first-rate, substantial gifts that will pamper Moms and their new addition. The Mom’s Day One box also includes information about various postpartum related issues, sourced from non-profit organizations and government agencies. This information is also available on the company’s website, www.dayone.ca.

The name of the box originates from the belief that it takes that first day or night for a new mom to understand the joys and challenges that arise in life with a new baby. As such, the main distribution point of the box will be at local hospitals, as this is where most moms truly begin their voyage.

The first set of 2000 Mom’s Day One boxes were funded by Binkowska and Miller along with help from Nick Eliades and their Partners (Huggies, Gymboree Play and Music, Mam, Munchkin, Homeocan, CST Consultants, Aleva, Sudocream, Help, We’ve got Kids, Adult Essential Gummies, Live Clean, Tena, Mother’s Choice, Ameda, Movies for Mommies, Salsa Babies and Dyson). Delivery of the boxes has been sponsored by Speedy Transport Limited.

Mom’s Day One continues to improve with the help of various public sector agencies, private family-friendly companies and hospitals in order to prepare more boxes for the future. Binkowska and Miller hope that one day every new Mom in Canada will start her journey with a bundle AND a box of joy.
