Former Domestic Violence Victim Releases New Book to Help Other Women Escape Abuse and Insure a Million Safe Women in Campaign to Prevent DV

Samantha Gregory didn’t recognize the systematic pattern of domininance and control and didn’t think she would become a victim of domestic abuse/violence. It wasn’t until her then two year old son was violently attacked, beaten, and bruised that she decided she had enough. She escaped the home and the marriage then went on to rebuild her life despite post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). That’s why she started the Million Safe Women campaign.

Atlanta, GA, November 16, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The CDC Injury Center reports, “1 in 4 women (24.3%) and 1 in 7 men (13.8%) aged 18 and older in the United States have been the victim of severe physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime (Black et al., 2011).” According to the National Institute for Justice's report taken from the National Violence Against Women Survey, “having a verbally abusive partner was the variable most likely to predict that a woman would be victimized by an intimate partner. These findings support the theory that violence perpetrated against women by intimates is often part of a systematic pattern of dominance and control.”

Samantha Gregory didn’t recognize the systematic pattern and didn’t think she would become a victim of domestic abuse/violence. It started with verbal and psychological abuse, which she accepted because she was trying to be a good Christian. It wasn’t until her then two year old son was violently attacked, beaten, and bruised that she decided she had enough. She escaped the home and the marriage then went on to rebuild her life despite post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Samantha Gregory says, “I can’t personally help all the victims of domestic violence but my heart goes out to them because I was one of them. However, I can do something to help prevent it from happening to a million women and teen girls.” That’s why she is started the Million Safe Women campaign.

From October 27-31, 2012, 800 free Kindle copies of her new book, No More Crumbs: How to Stop Dating (and Mating) for Crumbs and Get the Cake You Deserve in 10 Crucial Steps, were downloaded as part of the campaign. It was a quick, but effective way to bring awareness to the domestic violence problem. The Million Safe Women campaign is designed to empower, liberate, and keep women safe through education and preventive resources like the No More Crumbs book.

Self-published author, Samantha A. Gregory, released the book, No More Crumbs: How to Stop Dating and Mating for Crumbs and Get the Cake You Deserve in 10 Crucial Steps! to rave reviews on October 7, 2012.
