Willie Banks Appointed to the Advisory Board of The OChallenge

An international recognized athlete leader joins in the creation of the first Reality TV Show exclusively for Elite International Athletes.

New York, NY, November 23, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The OChallenge is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Willie Banks to its Advisory Board. A triple jump track & field athlete, Mr. Banks is the current President of the US Olympians, sits on the Board of Directors for USA Track and Field, and is the President of HSJ, Incorporated, a sports management and consulting firm that specializes in marketing and networking between the US and Japan.

The OChallenge is an entertainment start-up company, based in New York City, responsible for the creation of the first Reality Television Show competition exclusively for elite international athletes.

“I am really excited about someone like Willie Banks joining our team,” said original Jamaican bobsled team member and President of OChallenge, Devon Harris. “We welcome his advice, guidance and leadership.” Mr. Harris added, “I regard his many years as a competitor, his work in sports administration, and his leadership ability as valuable assets for the OChallenge. We thank him for accepting his appointment on our Board of Advisors.”

From his home in San Diego, Mr. Banks reinforces his support for the project: “I am excited about being a part of OChallenge. It is a very unique concept which allows elite international athletes to rekindle their competitive fire, reconnecting with their fellow competitors and their fans.”

Though Willie is a former world record holder and Olympian, much of his fame comes from his innovative approach to sports. He entertained the crowd and in response the spectators rhythmically clapped while he ran down the runway for his jump. It became so popular that it set a tradition that is mimicked throughout the world to this day.

The support of Willie Banks to the OChallenge will help the executive team accelerate the recruitment and support from other international athletes. In recent weeks, The OChallenge has received the support of more than a hundred international elite athletes, most of them Olympians and Paralympians. Many of them are winners of international competitions, including Olympic and Paralympic medals, World Championships, Commonwealth and Pan American Games titles as well as professional league titles in their respective disciplines.
