IT Security Expert and Author Raj Goel Speaks at the Long Island Association of Certified Fraud Examiners

New York, NY, November 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- On Tuesday November 20, Information Security expert and author, Raj Goel, presented Social Media Risks at the Long Island Association of Certified Fraud Examiners’ Full Day Fraud Seminar for a second time with rave reviews.

The full day fraud seminar will be held at the Westbury Manor on Long Island with other speakers that include Ernest Smith, the CPA/CFF, CVA, and CFE for “Fraud In Our Back Yard,” Kevin Sullivan, the CAMS from the Anti-Money Laundering Training Academy, David Chaves, a FBI Supervisory Special Agent of Securities Fraud, and Robert Roach, the NYU Compliance Officer and previous Chief of Staff for the NYC Department of Investigations.

At the presentation, Goel doubled LIACFE’s Red Cross fundraiser by donating proceeds from the book sale. Goel’s highly praised presentation focused on the impact that social media and cloud computing has on the communication of children, employees, and colleagues. Because social media has become a part of everyday life, there are problems with privacy and security that have arisen. With the use of case studies from around the world, Goel examined the negative effects of social media including losing jobs, college admissions, college degrees, fortunes, and freedom. By warning the public about these effects, Goel also discussed strategies and steps to protect privacy and civil liberties in this time when social media has a huge impact on people’s lives.
