Ukietech Team Helps Orphans on Saint Nicholas Day

The "Saint Nicholas Goes to Orphans" action is annually organized by the Maltese Cross Corps in Ivano-Frankivsk, located in the western Ukraine, and its mission is taking care of orphans and children from problem and broken homes on Saint Nicholas Day.

Chicago, IL, December 03, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Maltese Cross Corps charity organization has a long, great tradition of organizing the "Saint Nicholas Goes to Orphans" action shortly before Saint Nicholas Day on December 19th. The mission of the action is to raise funds and get presents for orphans and disadvantaged children.

Every child in the Ukraine looks forward to the night of December 19th, when Saint Nicholas, the Ukrainian version of Santa Claus, comes to their room and leaves presents under their pillow. Also, on this day, children write letters to Saint Nicholas with their list of presents.

This year the Ivano-Frankivsk office of Ukietech, a creative Chicago-based studio providing website design and branding services, took part in "Saint Nicholas Goes to Orphans" action and made their own contribution to this mission. Recently, Ukietech visited local orphanages and created a short video chronicling the life of homeless kids who deserve presents on this joyous day just as much as all the other children. The Ukietech team also volunteered in preparing banners promoting this action and also promoted the action through social media. The team members will also help by giving clothes, shoes, toys, candy and other gifts to the children on behalf of Saint Nicholas.

The Chicago office of Ukietech is also taking part by promoting the cause for the Ukrainian orphans through charitable donations in Chicago. They will ship clothes, shoes, toys, books and much more to the children helping to make their dreams come true.

“These kids really need the attention, assistance and someone who cares about them. We knew we wanted to help somehow and we felt that we can do this,” says Natalie, Director of Marketing at Ukietech. “Our video editor Julia, who shot and edited the video for the "Saint Nicholas Goes to Orphans" action was very excited about the fact that she really could help in her own way. And, she did. This video will leave no one indifferent or not touched in some way. I hope it will help them to raise funds and promote this great deed.”

“I’m 8 years old. My name is Bogdan. I live in the orphanage,” says a little boy in the video. As any child, he wants to receive presents too. But what he really wants is to be with his family.

“We can’t return the parents to the children, but, together we can help these children's dreams come true,” says Roman Yaruchyk, the chief of Maltese Cross Corps in Ivano-Frankivsk. “Last year we raised over $50,000 and delivered presents to nearly two thousands orphans. We hope that this year the donations will grow and we will be able to make the holiday happen for more and more children,” he says.
