)-- Cybersoft’s PrimeroEdge Product Management team announced today that its web-based Menu Planning solution is now USDA-approved for use in certification of compliance with lunch meal requirements. The PrimeroEdge Menu Planning module can be utilized as an alternative to the USDA Excel-based tool for school districts to submit and certify menus for the 6-cent additional lunch reimbursement.
Menu planners are able to see immediate, color-coded feedback for compliance as they design menus in PrimeroEdge. Since the PrimeroEdge Menu Planning Module is seamlessly integrated with Site Production Management, each campus plans for, produces, and records production for the menu developed. Along with real-time central availability of production records, other features include automatic production order generation and daily inventory withdrawals when both modules are implemented in conjunction with PrimeroEdge Inventory.
The innovative PrimeroEdge approach features ongoing investment in Research and Development; seeks constant feedback from users and is customer-focused on providing a precedent-setting technological solution. Amber Austin, Director of PrimeroEdge Product Management for PrimeroEdge explains, “Our goal when developing an alternate to the USDA spreadsheet was to offer a long term solution to help menu planners, not just a one-time use tool that serves no other purpose. With all of the challenges districts are facing in implementing the new meal pattern, determining menu compliance—both for certification and throughout the school year—should not be one of them. PrimeroEdge ensures that menu planners know exactly how each menu compares to the meal pattern while building production records at the same time.”
In addition to traditional on-site installation, PrimeroEdge offers a Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud solution hosted at Cybersoft’s data center. The ability to support multiple school districts from one installation provides unique data sharing capabilities being leveraged by buying groups and State Agencies alike. PrimeroEdge for state agencies provides a unified solution for both districts and the State Agency; offering great integration, easy reporting and compliance. The addition of menu certification complements the growing list of benefits delivered at state levels which include state-wide direct certification and eligibility determination, online applications, and online desk reviews during Administrative Reviews. PrimeroEdge allows for secure web access to Administrative Review related data providing the opportunity for desk review ahead of the on-site review, thus saving reviewers’ and districts’ time.
“We are extremely pleased to be able to offer a fully-integrated, intuitive USDA-approved alternative to help SFAs with the new meal pattern requirements,” said Venkat Koripalli, President of PrimeroEdge. “PrimeroEdge Menu Planning allows sharing of ingredients and recipes across SFAs so that many SFAs can benefit from work done by one user. We are constantly looking for ways to provide solutions to address the needs of child nutrition professionals across the nation.”
