Atlanta, GA, December 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Colored Rocks Foundation is honored to announce the arrival of Vaughn Thomas who will serve in the newly-created position of Curator of the Rock for the Foundation. In his role as Curator, Thomas will oversee development for the Foundation with a focus on securing major donors, expanding the Foundation’s presence in the community and establishing strategic corporate relationships.

Thomas’ specific initiatives will include establishing a "Circle of Friends" for the Colored Rocks Foundation, securing partners to distribute its popular Calendar of Success Tips from Colored Rocks Prize Honorees, and designing opportunities to attract investor support for the Foundation.

Thomas brings 12 years of senior nonprofit management experience to the Colored Rocks Foundation, having most recently served as CEO of New York’s The Sports Foundation, Inc. where he increased the annual budget by securing more than 45 new alliances and partners. Thomas also owns a marketing and relationship-building consulting firm, VLT Specialists.

“When I was growing up, someone helped me understand the value of an education and taught me the need for each-one-teach-one. I benefited from that lesson in my life. Now, I'm happy to bring my knowledge and return the favor by working with the Colored Rocks Foundation,” offered Thomas. “As Curator of the Colored Rocks Foundation, I hope to create a supporting environment and I promise to get investors into the Foundation.”

Cheryl Dukes, executive director of the Colored Rocks Foundation, believes Thomas will get the job done. “Vaughn Thomas is a great catch for the organization. His wealth of executive-level business experience will only add value to our efforts to grow the Colored Rocks Prize. We are fortunate to have someone of Mr. Thomas’ caliber on our team and we are pleased to welcome him onboard.”

Thomas has a degree from Lincoln University and did post graduate work at the New School for Social Research. He has been honored with the New York City Proclamation for Service to the Community and has also received a Martin Luther King Award. He was Board Chair for the Martin Luther King Medical Center in New York and previously served on the Boards of the Cameron Art Museum and the Cape Fear Jazz Society.
