Realtor Donates Commission Dollars to BVSD Organizations

Mary Ellen Wood's Efforts Funnel Hundreds of Dollars to a School.

Louisville, CO, December 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Louisville-based Realtor Mary Ellen Wood of Homestead Real Estate, LLC is putting her money where her livelihood is - bettering local schools' resources to improve real estate value. Wood is offering a $400 donation of her net commission to local parent-teacher organizations when a buyer or seller she represents requests the money be earmarked.

"If I can personally financially impact classroom resources to give teachers and children the support they need for learning, it's absolutely worth it," said Wood. "In reality it's a partnership; the families who hire me as a Realtor start the process toward a donation to local school organizations."

Wood said the idea hatched from her children's parent-school organizations, which continually host fundraisers to cover costs of classroom supplies, field trips, and special events. Her children attend Louisville's Coal Creek Elementary and Boulder's Boulder Community School of Integrated Studies, but is offering the financial donation to any BVSD school designated on request of the real estate buyer or seller whom she represents in the transaction.
