)-- Five Star Painting’s newest locally owned franchise is owned and operated by a face familiar to the company, Conrad Kolba – a fixture of Five Star since its inception.
As one of the original founders of the Five Star Painting brand, Kolba has come full circle with the international painting franchise, starting the company with a single painting business operated by a small group of friends funding college.
“I’ve seen this company grow from one location to a large franchise system now operating in four countries,” Kolba said. “The people I’ve worked with and met, the lives I’ve seen influenced by this company and the journey I’ve been able to go on with some of my closest friends has been an incredible thing to witness.”
After leading Five Star Painting to regular year over year growth, Kolba decided to resign as the company’s COO and get back to his roots as a small business operator.
“I am excited for the future of Five Star and can’t wait to start seeing freshly painted walls again!” Kolba said. “I’ve had a vested interest in this company for the past 15 years, and now I look forward to continuing to work with Five Star in the painting realm, the place where it all started for me.”
CEO Scott Abbott has worked with Kolba over the past decade and is excited to continue to work with him on a different level.
“Conrad has been at Five Star from the beginning and has been a driving force for the success of this company,” Abbott said. “We are very thankful for his commitment, hard work over the years and the heart that he has brought to this enterprise. We are excited about what his future holds and look forward to his continued involvement as a franchisee.”
Five Star Painting’s fourth Utah location will serve the Utah County area. The franchise specializes in interior/exterior painting, deck and fence refinishing, staining and wallpaper.
