Ozone Safe Food Announces the Installation of an Ozone Water Sanitation System for Seafood Processing Company in the United States

Lake Elsinore, CA, December 14, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Ozone Safe Food, Inc., a manufacturer of ozone air and water equipment announced today that a seafood processing company in the United States has installed an OSF water sanitation systems system.

The OSF commercial ozone water sanitation equipment eliminates the need for chemicals and hot water for daily sanitation. The OSF system will also be used for direct application on the seafood during processing as a way to extend the shelf life of the fresh seafood.

“We expect our client to see the benefit of at least 1-3 days of added shelf life,” stated Ozone Safe Food CEO Mark Taggatz.

The OSF Cleaning Antimicrobial Wash Systems, developed for the food, beverage, hospitality, education and medical industries, is an ozone-based cold water technology that meets and exceeds the microbial reductions commonly attained with conventional hot water and chemical applications.

The uniqueness of the OSF technology is that it is over 50% more effective than chemicals and over 3,000 times faster acting than chemicals. Designed for surface cleaning and sanitation, as well as direct product treatment, the OSF cleaning antimicrobial systems provide multi-surface cleaning and sanitation for wettable equipment; walls and floors; drains and chutes; tanks, barrels and totes; etc. Application designs for existing CIP system conversions, and attachments for application in enclosed containers/tanks, are also available.

In addition, OSF manufactures air purification systems that reduce and eliminates airborne pathogens or mold spores. The OSF ozone air purification and water sanitation systems are designed for use in food and beverage processing facilities, hospitals, hotels, restaurants, schools and other medical facilities.

How Ozone Destroys Pathogens

Ozone eliminates or reduces pathogens by destroying the cell wall. Pathogens cannot develop resistance to ozone as they can to antibiotics, so there is no danger of developing superbugs through the use of ozone.

Why Ozone

Organisms Destroyed by Ozone Include:
Bacteria, Cysts, Yeast, Virus, Protozoa, Algae, Fungal Pathogens

Ozone is the strongest disinfectant available, and is more than 3,100 times faster than chlorine in killing bacteria.

Ozone air treatment applications eliminates odors.

Ozone disinfection produces no harmful by-products. In contrast, chlorine disinfection creates carcinogenic by-products.

Ozone dissolved in water completely reverts to regular oxygen within 20 minutes, so there is no residue. For this reason, disinfection must always be accomplished with ozone water fresh from the tap.

Ozone dissolved in water is completely safe and rinsing your hands in ozone water will sanitize better than using any chemicals or soap and water.

Ozone is created instantly by the OSF disinfection system, so there are no more chemical sanitizers to buy.

Ozone also works best in cold water, reducing energy costs for heating water.

Ozone Safe Food is committed to eliminate chemicals and hot water during the sanitation process. A further goal is to help prevent contamination of food. With the OSF non-chemical process, the company can extend the shelf life of food products which means higher profits for processors and less waste for the consumer. Ozone is also safer for the workers since there are no chemicals to handle.
