)-- Fuentek, LLC (http://www.fuentek.com), a local technology transfer consulting firm, has announced that president Laura Schoppe presented at the University Technology Enterprise Network’s (UTEN’s) Annual Meeting in Lisbon, Portugal this week. As a member of the board of directors of the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM), Schoppe participated in a panel discussion focusing on the power of technology transfer networks.
Schoppe provided tips to attendees on building their tech transfer network, including specifics of how to leverage AUTM tools, such as the Global Technology Portal (gtp.autm.net) and the annual meeting, as well as using social networking platforms to disseminate information and connect with relevant marketing targets.
UTEN is a network of scientific and academic institutions in Portugal to foster technology transfer on an international scale. Focused on developing a globally competitive and sustainable technology commercialization infrastructure, UTEN is a component of the UT Austin/Portugal program collaboration for emerging technologies.
“Today we work in a global economy and I was glad to participate in this panel and bring an international perspective to the discussion,” said Schoppe. “Over the years our company has developed an understanding of the importance of a tech transfer network, and many R&D organizations overseas want to introduce their technologies into the U.S. market. It was my pleasure to share best practices and information about AUTM to help UTEN establish an ‘entrance’ strategy.”
