ARC Provides Active Directory Management to Texas Department of State Health Services

Austin, TX, January 11, 2013 --(PR.com)-- ARC, a technology solutions, services, and staffing provider based in Austin, Texas, will provide professional services to the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) in the form of Active Directory Management. Texas DSHS provides health, mental health and substance abuse services to over 24 million residents of Texas.

DSHS currently operates a large Active Directory (AD) environment supporting over 10,000 users in a multi-domain, multi-tree environment. With such a large user base, senior AD managers are overloaded with administrative duties, including help desk requests, replications issues, and permission issues. Managing these requests has prevented senior staff from focusing on strategic agency projects.

DSHS asked ARC to take ownership of the AD environment, which would allow its senior staff to be available for agency projects. Using its consultative approach, ARC also did a thorough analysis of DSHS processes and tools. ARC will deploy the improved processes and begin managing the AD environment using its staff of Microsoft-certified engineers. Once the improvements are implemented, it’s expected that at least two FTEs will be available to focus on agency projects, saving DSHS time, money and resources.
