Honolulu, HI, January 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- KFF LLC's Jennifer Young today announced successful implementations and certifications of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) standard at leading seafood companies in Honolulu and Republic of Marshall Islands.

Working with both Norpac Fisheries Export and Marshall Islands Fishing Venture during the process, Ms. Young now returns to KFF LLC food safety consulting full-time. She states, "It was an extensive and rigorous process to organize, join and lead both sites during the peak of their busy fishing and holiday seasons. This type of implementation normally takes up to 6 months with the goal of attaining certification only recommended after one year. This was quite an achievement for all involved."

"Companies must realize that attaining the new standards of food safety compliance is directly related to their potential for growth locally, across the US and around the globe. All companies will experience regulatory audits but it is this level of certification that provides assurance of their commitment to food safety," Ms. Young reminds. She led the staff to deliver well ahead of schedule, expectations and projections. "This is the first of a series of deliverables for me. My goal is to support the food industry and assure they will meet the increasingly complex requirements of the government, customers and consumers. This success of this project is significant. It provides a clear signal of re-commitment to the business of food safety in general and the measure of excellence and performance management in particular."

Obtaining a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standard has been a high-impact benchmark throughout the food industry. It culminates compliance initiatives with continuous improvement. Meeting the standard requires adoption of the GFSI principles, including is a rigorous undertaking with tremendous benefits. Ms. Young commented, "It requires the overall development of an organization--its entire culture, level of responsibilities and efficiency. The principles of GFSI influence a more ethical and transparent approach to food safety. The higher level of responsibility by the suppliers and manufacturers means safer food for consumers--that's how we honor our fisherman and what really affects the business bottom line."
