U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson Becomes Honorary Member of the Center for Excellence in Education’s Board of Trustees

CEE recruits the most intellectually gifted and talented students and nurtures them through exceptionally designed programs to new academic heights to become tomorrow’s leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. CEE provides cost-free programs to its students through collaborations with educational institutions, private foundations, corporations, government agencies, and individuals who share a commitment to educational excellence and leadership.

McLean, VA, February 04, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) is pleased to announce that U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson (FL) has joined the CEE Board of Trustees. He replaces Sen. Joseph Lieberman (CT), retired member of Congress.

“The Center is honored and privileged to have Senator Nelson, an outstanding Member of Congress, become an Honorary Member of CEE’s Board of Trustees,” said Joann DiGennaro, CEE President. “CEE looks forward to his expertise.”

Senator Nelson serves on the Senate Commerce, Armed Services, Budget, and Finance committees. He is the Chairman of the Aging Committee and is recognized as a leading congressional expert on the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). In 1986, Nelson spent six days orbiting the Earth aboard the space shuttle Columbia.

“I look forward to working with the Center to ensure U.S. students remain competitive with the rest of the world in science, math and engineering,” said Nelson.
