Charleston, SC, February 06, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina spoke to students at Trident Literacy Association’s TC Drayton Center in Charleston, SC about legal issues on Monday November 12th 2012. The Trident Literacy Association has a main goal of promoting literacy and education helping area citizens continue their education and receive training, and help students earn a high school diploma. Attorney Evan Guthrie was joined by attorney David Aylor to speak to students about different area of law and answer questions that students had. This was the second time that Mr. Guthrie spoke at the Trident Literacy Association’s TC Drayton Center. The first time was part of the American Bar Association TIPS and GP Solo sections Spring Conference service project held in Charleston in May of 2012. In that program Mr. Guthrie spoke on a panel with other area attorneys about the topic of estate planning and health care decisions while being observed by lawyers from across the country attending the ABA meeting. Attorney Evan Guthrie wanted to continue the service project beyond the conference and follow up and continue to volunteer with the Literacy Association. Mr. Guthrie and his staff reached out to local criminal defense and personal injury lawyer David Aylor to help speak and answer questions from participants. Questions from students ranged from how to get a simple will, what to do when faced with a trespassing charge, how to go about applying for social security disability, and how to challenge a child custody order.

Attorney Evan Guthrie was happy to return to the literacy center and volunteer his time to help those may need information about different areas of law and may have personal legal questions. Mr. Guthrie looked forward to planning future speaking events at all of the Trident Literacy Association’s centers throughout the Charleston, SC area. Attorney Guthrie enjoyed being able to give back to the community and support such a worthy cause.
