Religion Communicators Council Talks Interfaith Health

The Nashville Religion Communicators Council (RCC) recently met and heard from the new Director of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives for the Tennessee Department of Health.

Nashville, TN, February 22, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Dr. Michele Gourley has been the Director of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives for the Tennessee Department of Health for five months and has jumped right into it. With a pastor for a grandfather who also had a knack for the political arena, Gourley was quite comfortable going into this position.

After graduating from East Tennessee State University with degrees in medicine and public health, she found that a job in public health suited her more than private practice. “It’s almost like missionary work,” she said of her new position.

RCC members were excited to hear from her and consider collaboration on future projects. President of the Nashville chapter, Rev. Brian Fesler says, “Dr. Gourley is such a great fit for this position and we look forward to working with her office.”

The RCC is open to members from all denominations, and the Nashville group includes Baha’is, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Scientologists, and more. For further information about the RCC or their next meeting, visit www.religioncommunicators.org.
