Portland, OR, August 04, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Leading interactive advertising and branding firm the Overland Agency has just released Version 3.0 of their Website Framework and integrated Content Management System (CMS), a tool set that saves companies valuable time and money in developing and managing their websites. The first website launched on the 3.0 platform was the Oregon site for ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (extrememakeoveroregon.com), sponsored by Portland-based builder Legend Homes. The Framework enabled the site to be launched in record time to coincide with the TV network’s announcement of the show’s latest project. The CMS provided Legend Homes easy and frequent site-wide updating capability documenting the daily progress of the one-week house build.

“We developed our Framework/CMS to stay competitive in a market where off-shoring of programming is becoming a normal practice for companies to reduce the cost of complex web builds and online business models. We also wanted to offer an alternative to the temptation that exists for clients to purchase off-the-shelf solutions that look inexpensive, but that limit creativity and all-important search optimization,” said Arve Overland, CEO and Executive Creative Director. “We now use this robust and tested platform as the core infrastructure for most of our client websites.” The strategy has shown fast returns, landing Overland among the Portland Business Journal’s fastest-growing private companies in Oregon.

Built using .NET 2.0/C# technologies, the Framework includes a flexible user interface and an easy-to-use, full-featured integrated Content Management System, enabling ongoing management of site content by non-technical users. Now, business people can maintain their website without any programming knowledge, including posting live content without utilizing IT department resources. By integrating the CMS directly into a website, authorized staff may remotely edit, delete, add, and reorder content within its display context, without traveling to a separate administration module or page. Access levels can also be set for content editing and the authorization to push content live.

“The CMS was excellent. It allowed us to add press releases and photos and post live immediately to show the progress of our extreme home build,” said Legend Homes’ marketing manager Krista Boyd, after the 24-hours-a-day construction marathon that ended on July 14, 2007.
