Roof-Greenhouse Pioneer to Speak at Urban Farming Event in Boston March 9

Mohamed Hage, founder of Lufa Farms, will speak at the Urban Farming Conference, Saturday, March 9, 10:45 am, at Roxbury Community College's Media Arts Building.

Boston, MA, March 02, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The founder of Lufa Farms -- the company that grows and delivers fresh produce from a 31,000-square-foot greenhouse on a roof in Montreal -- will be a panelist at the Urban Farming Conference, Saturday, March 9, at Roxbury Community College.

For a 10:45 a.m. panel discussion about rooftop-farming techniques, Lufa Farms’ Mohamed Hage will join Robert N. Fireman of Sky Vegetables and John Stoddard of Higher Ground Farm in a conversation with Mark Winterer, co-founder of Recover Green Roofs.

Hage is also in town to talk with building owners and business partners about locating rooftop farms in the Boston area. In addition, Lufa Farms is targeting New York, Philadelphia and Chicago as possible locations.

The Urban Farming Conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the College’s Media Arts Building. Organizers are City Growers and Urban Farming Institute of Boston, in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources.
