U.S. Gas and Electric Partners with Habitat For Humanity of Greater Miami for Blitz Build Community Project to assist families in need.

Miami, FL, March 06, 2013 --(PR.com)-- U.S. Gas & Electric (“USG&E”), a provider of natural gas and electricity to commercial and residential consumers in a growing number of states, partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami for the launch of its renowned “Blitz Build” initiative. Held in February 2013, the Blitz Build is an accelerated construction project that was created to build ten new homes within two weeks for families in need. The ten homes will be the first of 45 in Habitat for Humanity’s newest South Miami-Dade community, Habitat Landings, scheduled to be completed in three years. U.S. Gas & Electric’s employees dedicated their time in support of this event with extraordinary results.

“We are proud to be a partner with Habitat for Humanity,” stated Doug Marcille, Director, CEO and President of USG&E. “It is our mission to create a positive impact by giving back to our community to assist with fostering growth in South Florida.”

Following an exciting two weeks, Habitat for Humanity concluded the event with a dedication ceremony to an enthusiastic crowd. Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, County Commissioner Dennis Moss and County Mayor Carlos Gimenez were also in attendance and shared in the celebratory festivities.

Blitz Build is made possible through the generous support of corporate and institutional donors who sponsor individual homes. This year’s sponsors include: Anthony R. Abraham Foundation, Assurant, Baptist Hospital South Florida, Chase, EverBank, Faith House, Miami-Dade Housing Finance Authority, Publix Supermarket Charities, WSVN Channel 7, as well as one house co-sponsored by eBay & TransFlorida.
