Accelerated Education Systems Received Approval from the California Tax Education Council

Redding, CA, August 06, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Accelerated Education Systems has received approval from the California Tax Education Council (CTEC) to offer tax education courses for credit to tax professionals in the state of California.

The company, which provides both online and traditional classroom-based training in tax preparation, can now offer the same courses to tax preparers in California. California mandates that tax preparers who prepare taxes for a fee be registered with CTEC and complete 20 hours of professional continuing education each year. The courses offered by Accelerated Education Systems qualify as continuing education and will help professional tax preparer meet their continuing education requirement.

Accelerated Education Systems also offers a 60-hour course to teach people how to become a professional tax preparer. “The tax preparation industry is growing at an enormous rate,” says Accelerated founder Charles Davidson. “Despite the increase in the use of tax preparation software more and more people are turning to a professional tax preparer each year. It’s a great part-time or full-time career and perfect for stay-at-home moms, retired seniors, or college students looking for a little extra cash.”

The 60-hour course, called The Fundamentals of Income Tax Preparation starts with the basics and gradually moves toward more complicated topics. “Some people think you have to be an accountant or a math wizard to be a tax preparer,” says Davidson. “That’s simply not true. The math required is nothing more than third grade arithmetic and our course teaches someone without any experience or education exactly what they need to know to become a tax preparer as soon as they finish the course.”

Students completing the course must obtain a tax preparer bond and register with the California Tax Education Council. There are no other requirements and students who successfully complete the courses between now and December will be able to start preparing taxes by next tax season.

Graduates of the Accelerated Education Systems program typically go on to work for one of the national tax preparation companies or a local accounting or bookkeeping firm. Some, however, choose to start their own tax preparation business. Accelerated Education Systems provides students with all of the knowledge and training they need to launch a new career.
