New York, NY, March 09, 2013 --(PR.com
)-- In a December/January issue article for Heart & Soul Magazine, celebrity cosmetic surgeon Dr. Michael E. Jones (http://www.michaeljonesmd.com), presented the “Mommy Makeover,” a series of cosmetic surgical procedures that target the areas of a woman’s body most affected by pregnancy.
Typically consisting of a breast lift with augmentation or reduction and a tummy tuck and sometimes liposuction, this post-partum prescription for sexy is designed to restore the new mother’s self-confidence. A recent patient of Dr. Jones’ states, “I feel comfortable with myself. I feel like a brand new person. I can wear anything I want.”
However, just exactly what should she wear? Dr. Jones decided to team up with 25 year, fashion industry veteran – NY’s expert and celebrity bra and swimwear aficionado- Linda Becker to find out. Linda added her thoughts on pregnancy and its effects on body image and personal style, as well as a woman’s choice to undergo cosmetic procedures.
Linda confirmed that body image affects a woman’s style choices after pregnancy; typically she recommends tankinis and one-piece suits to cover stretch marks and under-wire tops for added lifting and shaping. Many women also require fuller coverage bras to help shape softer tissue, without spills or creating what she is quoted as calling that “quad boob” look.
She cites the breasts and tummy as the biggest wardrobe speed bumps, and knows the peril faced by women whose tummies won’t return to normal after months of adequate exercise and a healthy diet. She has fitted many women who have had “Mommy Makeover” procedures and she believes it to have empowered them. She says, “Whatever helps you feel fabulous, go for it!”
