River Expeditions Announces Dates for 2013 "Extreme College Weekends" Whitewater Rafting

In 2013, "Extreme College Weekends" are a great chance for students to take a break from studying to experience the thrill of white water rafting. This package also includes camping, BBQ, music, and other entertainment designed for students and their friends.

Oak Hill, WV, March 27, 2013 --(PR.com)-- This April, college students have a chance for a different type of study break- a weekend full of rafting, BBQ, and camping with great friends! River Expeditions is excited to announce that the dates for their Extreme College Weekends for 2013 will be the weekends of April 13, 20 and 27. Students can take advantage of a weekend package price including rafting, a BBQ cookout, 2 nights camping and light breakfast daily. The party continues into the evening at River Expeditions’ Adventure Resort at The Red Dog River Saloon, where rafters receive complimentary beverages while listening to music, playing games, and meeting new people.

In spring, the New River is the largest volume Class V white water river in North America. Spring rafting is especially exciting because higher water levels make the waves, holes and rapids more intense. However, despite these stronger waves, there is still a welcome path for the new or nervous rafter. The average water temperature in April is 65 degrees. White water rafting in the New River Gorge is great opportunity to experience something completely different, without breaking the bank. Packages are priced at $89 for rafting on Saturday, and $79 on Fridays and Sundays.

River Expeditions offers rafting trips on the New River daily from April to October. White water rafting involves navigating a stretch of river on an inflatable raft. Most trips last about 5-7 hours, including lunch. Being able to swim isn't a necessity, and many non swimmers get to experience the thrill of rafting, as each guest is equipped with a Coast Guard approved Type V Life Jack, Paddle, and Helmet.

“Our Extreme College Weekends are a great way to get outdoors and blow off some winter cobwebs,” says River Expeditions Owner, Rick Johnson. “We believe that our all inclusive pricing is a great chance for students to raft, socialize, and enjoy the spring weather, without hurting their budget or experiencing surprise costs.”

Parents can send their students a “Rafting Care Package” as a gift certificate that can be used to pick the package of their choice and book their trip. River Expeditions Adventure Resort is within easy driving distance of many colleges in West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Washington DC and Maryland.
