New Specialty Computer Store Enjoys College-Town Success

Athens, GA, August 11, 2007 --(PR.com)-- PeachMac, an Apple Specialist opened its doors at The Markets at Epps Bridge as the only store in Athens dedicated to selling Apple, Inc. products. With high demand for items such as iPods, Mac computers and accessories, PeachMac has enjoyed high sales volumes since opening in May. Owner Darryl Peck explains why, “We’ve tapped into an underserved market in Athens and have been received with open arms as a result.” With the widest selection of Apple products in the area, PeachMac is also an authorized service provider.

A new trend in the real estate industry involves catering to the evolving dynamics of university towns by recognizing the buying power and diverse tastes of both college-town residents and students. The Markets at Epps Bridge is an innovative shopping center developed by Athens-based The Dovetail Companies – a group that specializes in college-town real estate. PeachMac, among others, has already contributed to and benefited from the development’s set-up as a diverse retail destination. Dovetail's leasing agent for The Markets, Bryan Austin, explains, “Offering a dynamic tenant mix of both national and neighborhood retailers and restaurants is crucial to both individual tenant success and to creating a varied shopping experience that benefits everyone.” Austin said that Dovetail will be carrying this concept to new college markets including College Station, Texas in 2008. Some Epps Bridge tenants may be opening second locations at other Dovetail developments like The Markets at Anderson (SC) serving Clemson University; The Markets at Cedar Ridge in Charlotte, NC and The Markets at Sugarloaf in Lawrenceville, GA.

The Markets at Epps Bridge totals 116,000 sq ft and is anchored by David’s Bridal and Ashley Furniture. Other businesses at The Markets include New Balance, America’s Home Place, Johnny’s Pizza, Beneficial Finance, Kui Hibachi Grill, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Learning Express, Five Points Deli, Weekday Gourmet, Chandlee Jewelers, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Athens First Bank, The Sign Brothers, Golden Dragon, TA Nails and Bark Pet Boutique and Spa. 23% of the 2-phase center remains available for lease.
