Long Island Center for Business and Professional Women to Recognize Gail Trugman-Nikol

Hicksville, NY, April 03, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Long Island Center for Business and Professional Women (LICBPW), one of the largest not-for-profit Long Island women’s networking organizations, will hold its 34th Annual Achievers’ Awards Gala on May 8, 2013 at the Fox Hollow in Woodbury, NY. The Gala celebration will highlight the achievements of women who have made significant contributions in their respective fields and have been influential in opening doors for women in businesses, their professions and within their communities. Among the women receiving the Center’s prestigious Achievers' Award is Gail Trugman-Nikol, Owner and President of Unique Business Solutions.

An established and respected Long Island businesswomen, Nikol’s company, Unique Business Solutions, was established in 2005 to help businesses and their owners preserve and utilize valuable organizational and operational knowledge of their employees. Through Nikol’s strategies and services, businesses are able to grow as well as protect themselves from potential loss of key staff members. Over the years, Nikol has mentored dozens of young woman and men. Her experiences as a leading business consultant, speaker, author and mentor have positioned her as a role model women across the Long Island market.

“Any recognition I receive for my efforts in the business world and community activities I share with my colleagues and friends who have been there with me over the years. I would never have been able to achieve so much without the unconditional support of my husband, Peter. He has been my strength, my rock and my confidant. For me it has been most gratifying to be a mentor and guide for women in their pursuit of their dreams and aspirations. Having played a part in helping them advance their career goals, regardless of their business, profession or avocation, have been some of the most rewarding experiences of my life,” said Nikol.

Nikol’s peers not only recognize her business acumen, but view her as a trendsetter and exceptional mentor of women. She joins other outstanding Long Island women who have been recipients of the Achievers’ Award in the past including Town of Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray, Founder and Executive Director of HorseAbility Katie McGowan, and Attorney Karen Tenenbaum of Karen J. Tenenbaum, P.C.

“Women have made great strides in the past few decades and we expect a great deal from members of the millennial generation and generation X. However, it is important for women to look at the way they were mentored and, based on changes in society, technology and generational differences, we need to be prepared to adjust our approaches. We must never forget where we came from and who helped us achieve our goals. I am humbled to be recognized for the mentoring I have done, much of which was done behind the scenes,” Nikol added.
