Margaret River Farmers Market Attracted Large Crowd

Margaret River, Australia, April 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- In Western Australia's south west wine producing region, Margaret River Farmers Market is fast becoming known as an oasis of local seafood and all kinds of fresh produce, meat, eggs and baked items.

Held on Saturdays from 8am to noon on the corner of Farrelly and Tunbridge streets, the market hosts a large number of knowledgeable and friendly vendors showcasing a wide range of homemade and homegrown delicacies. Both locals and visitors alike eagerly wait for the market day each week as a unique opportunity to celebrate and share the quality and abundance of local fresh produce and enjoy the strong bonds that are formed when people buy from locals.

A big turnout wasn't expected at the market last March 30th during the Easter weekend. Amongst the vendors, Sonja Gammeter and Andreas Frutiger of Koonac Goat Farm sold meat cuts, Greek, Moroccan, red wine and smoked kranski and garlic sausages-- all of which are processed by a local butcher. The farm specialises in boer goats and is located 20 kilometres east of the town (accessible via Rosa Brook village, a bush track and open farm country).

So, if you want to directly interact with local producers and farmers, find out where your food is coming from and show your support to the local community, then the Margaret River Farmers Market is an ideal place for you to be. With the south west increasingly garnering a prestigious reputation as Western Australia's gourmet capital, the market serves as a spectacular platform to showcase the local produce that this region is famous for.
