CurlyStraw's New Purses Inspire Girls to Party Safely

After losing her purse on a night out, a Cardiff business owner is launching a design that encourages other women to keep their valuables safe on a night out.

Cardiff, United Kingdom, April 06, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Karen Rouse, who founded party website, CurlyStraw in 2012, had her purse stolen while working in Tenerife.

“It only contained my cards and some cash but because I was overseas, it took several weeks for my replacement cards to arrive. It isn’t just the practical aspect - women have an emotional attachment to their belongings and losing them can leave you feeling vulnerable.”

On her return to the UK, Karen teamed up with Sarah Baxter, who owns Leicester-based crafts business, Ollie-Bobs and the pair developed a purse with a safety clip and strap that can be worn around the wrist or attached to a belt.

“One of the biggest mistakes that women make is to keep everything in one place – if all of your valuables are in a bag and you lose that bag, then everything is gone. Our purses are designed to hold essential items such as cards, cash and your house key so that you can always get home at the end of the night.”

The purses are all handmade in a variety of designs and colours, and can be found at www.curlystraw.co.uk
