Hope Hospice Thrift Shop Expansion

New Braunfels, TX, April 25, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Thanks to community support, the Hope Hospice Thrift Shop is growing and will undergo construction, with a grand reopening to come in the Fall of 2013. Construction will officially begin May 6, with the store temporarily closing April 28 through project completion. During this phase of construction the Thrift Shop is not able to accept donations and they encourage supporters to hold onto their items if they are able. Until then, the store is hosting a construction sale to clear the space for expansion to begin. Everything in store is half price through April 27.

A ground-breaking ceremony December of 2012 commemorated the beginning of the project, and celebrated the success of the growth of Hope Hospice and the Thrift Shop. 2012 proved to be a record in sales for Hope, generating $247,374 in gross sales for the year. Expansion for the store includes creating additional space for parking, a more efficient donation intake zone, and 30 percent more square footage to be used for sales floor and donation processing.

The shop also staffs volunteers who donate time to maintain the store and an atmosphere of camaraderie among fellow volunteers and shoppers. Hope is currently looking to bringing on more volunteers to help in the thrift shop as the building grows. Please call Director of Volunteer Services, Sarah Currie, at 830-358-5209 to volunteer at Hope Hospice.

Every dollar spent and item donated to the Hope Hospice Thrift Shop benefits patients and their families that Hope serves. Gross sales contribute to the care of uninsured patients, bereavement support to the community and other un-funded or under-funded programs.
