Blogging D.I.V.A. Style

Entrepreneur uses the net to provide a unique spin on life

Washington, DC, August 17, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Blog this. Ping me. Are you on Technorati?

With each day that passes social media such as social bookmarking, community sites, and blogging increase in popularity. According to a report on the Toronto Star, every day an astounding 120,000 new blogs are created, and 1.5 million new posts are published.

One entrepreneur decided to take her interest in social media, and her passion for women’s issues, and create a network of blogs geared toward the different phases in a woman’s life.

“I started this project because I was looking to read a certain type of information and I simply couldn’t find it,” said DJ Nelson, founder of AllDivaMedia.com. “For instance, I like weddings; however handmade invites, coordinating bridesmaid’s dresses, and fabric patterns are boring to me. So I came up with our first site, BrideDiva.com, whose tagline is ‘not your momma’s wedding advice’.”

The network currently has 4 websites; with 3 new sites under development. All of the sites don the word “diva”.

“Let me make one thing very clear, diva does not mean demanding,” Nelson said. “In my opinion, the word diva is about empowering women to be determined, independent, vivacious, and assertive.”
