Tigerlily Partners with Dr. Jillian H. Davis, Ph.d., as Breast Cancer Resource

Tigerlily Foundation (Tigerlily) is excited to welcome Dr. Jillian H. Davis, Ph.D, to their on-line community, providing information to breast cancer survivors, their families and those who are affected by breast cancer.

Reston, VA, August 17, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Dr. Davis is an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the School of Pharmacy at Hampton University, where she conducts cancer research. More specifically her research focuses on increasing the effectiveness of breast cancer chemotherapy while at the same time reducing the negative side effects associated with therapy. Dr. Davis also has a general interest in the areas of minority and women’s health. Her long term goal is to perform cutting edge research at Hampton University centered on developing optimal chemotherapeutic treatments and reducing health disparities among women and minorities.

Dr. Davis has published her research in several peer-reviewed journals, including Anticancer Research and Cellular and Molecular Biology. She has also presented at numerous national and international scientific meetings. Dr. Davis currently serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Best Practices in Health Professions Diversity: Research, Education and Policy, a newly created magazine which focuses on the education and professional development of diverse students in health careers.

Dr. Davis earned her Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Howard University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from North Carolina A&T State University. In February 2007, Dr. Davis was named by Ebony magazine as one of their “30 Leaders of the Future.”

She will be working with Tigerlily Foundation as a resource, providing updates on new breast cancer research initiatives and studies.
