Verizon Wireless Named Main Sponsor for Geek Girl Cape Cod Tech Conference 2013

Verizon Foundation Brings Internationally Renowned Internet and Cell Phone Safety Advocate, Richard Guerry as Keynote Speaker.

Boston, MA, May 02, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Geek Girl, the preeminent hands-on computer technology educational training organization, today announced that Verizon Wireless will be the Main Sponsor for Geek Girl Cape Cod Tech Conference 2013 happening on May 11th at the Cape Cod Community College in Barnstable, MA. This will be the 5th Tech Conference Geek Girl has organized in its five year history on Cape Cod, with almost a dozen more tech conferences slated around the country in the next year.

In addition to being the lead sponsor, the Verizon Foundation is bringing world renowned internet safety expert, Richard Guerry, a national public speaker and the founder of the non-profit organization the Institute for Responsible Online and Cell-Phone Communication (IROC2). Since June, 2009, Richard has spoken to over 800 audiences across the United States and Canada ranging from avid to novice digital users, providing an entertaining and eye-opening live event. In 2011, he was awarded the School Safety Advocacy Council’s “Exemplary School Safety Initiative” Award.

In addition, one of the company’s wireless experts will be speaking on a panel focused on harnessing the power of new mobile technology.

Microsoft and Constant Contact will also be major sponsors of the tech conference, the third year for both being involved teaching workshops, appearing on speaker panels and demonstrating new products and software.
